How I became a Heep fan
Around 1989 I started checking out my father's LP's, enjoyed Sabbath's Paranoid, really liked Tull's Aqualung and then came the magic moment: I turned on Live '73 and while the tuning and sunrise started I opened the gatefold. One magic moment it was.... it really changed my life. After that I have bought all albums on secondhand vinyl as they were cheaper then the now worthless Castle cd's, which I bought after that. And then came the remasters and then there was INTERNET. More opportunities to buy Heepstuff but I do miss the days when I was searching for any vinyl edition of magician's birthday, it took 4 years before it finally crossed my path!!!! My first Heepshow was in 1994 in a very small club (only 200/300 visitors) in Heino, Holland, it was great! The second one was even better, I got the chance to go backstage I feel very very fortunate meeting my heroes. I was wearing my "Uriah Who?" T-shirt which I bought from The UHAS and everybody signed it, still got it with stains and all. Probably my most cherished heep item.
